About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, execution-driven Technical Project Manager to join our Project Management Office in Mexico, with strong experience in mobile app development. This is not a traditional PMO or corporate project management role — we need someone who can jump in immediately, take full ownership of the project, and move fast. You will work side by side with the technical team and client to ship a great consumer mobile product.

You will own the backlog, coordinate daily with the client and the development team, run Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and ensure consistent delivery. Ideally you have shipped consumer-facing mobile apps — food, delivery, loyalty, or similar — and thrive in fast-paced, autonomous environments where you’re expected to operate proactively.

You bring deep practical knowledge of how mobile apps are built, a product mindset, and the energy to lead execution from day one — with high autonomy and full ownership of outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Project Management

Lead proposal preparation and budgeting, ensuring accurate financial forecasts and resource allocation.

Oversee end-to-end project execution, managing timelines, budgets, and scope to ensure successful delivery.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and status reports.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; manage and account for unforeseen delays, realigning schedules and expectations as needed.

Establish and implement project communication plans, providing regular status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.

2. Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the main client-facing contact for all project-related communications, building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Serve as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business language.

Gather and document client requirements, ensuring alignment between stakeholder expectations and project deliverables.

Manage stakeholder expectations through proactive communication and transparent reporting on project progress, issues, and changes.

3. Product Owner Relay

Act as the Product Owner relay, representing business needs to development teams and ensuring alignment with the product vision.

Create, prioritize, and manage day-to-day tickets and tasks in the product/project backlog.

Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and deliverables for development teams.

Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and collaborate with teams to ensure stories are well-understood and properly estimated.

Balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders, making data-driven decisions on feature prioritization.

4. Team Coordination & Leadership

Drive internal coordination between cross-functional teams including development, design, QA, and operations.

Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.

Lead regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.

Motivate and support team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project coordinators and team members.

5. Process Optimization & Automation

Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and workflows to increase overall team efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, implementing best practices and standardized processes.

Evaluate and recommend project management tools, technologies, and methodologies to optimize delivery.

Document processes, create templates, and establish guidelines to ensure consistency across projects.

Lead change management efforts when implementing new processes or systems.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager or hands-on Project Manager with a strong focus on mobile app development and Agile delivery.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Technical & Domain Knowledge:

Solid understanding of mobile app development (iOS/Android), including typical architectures, dev cycles, and QA processes.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and frameworks (Kanban, SAFe, or similar).

Proficiency with project management tools such as Productive, Jira, or Microsoft Project.

Client & Communication Skills:

Proven experience in client communication and relationship management.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Project management certifications (PMP, CSM, CSPO) are a plus, but not required — we value real-world mobile product experience over credentials.

Proven track record shipping consumer-facing mobile apps (food, delivery, loyalty, or similar).

Practical experience running Agile/Scrum ceremonies and managing backlogs end-to-end (Jira, Linear, or similar).

Experience acting as Product Owner or PM with full ownership of roadmap, priorities, and delivery — not just as a coordinator.

Experience with change management methodologies (ADKAR, Prosci, or similar).

Experience in digital transformation, software development, or technology consulting projects.

Knowledge of automation tools (Zapier, Power Automate, scripting) for workflow optimization.

Experience working with international clients and in a multicultural environment.

Additional European languages are a plus.
